Contextual Help: Answers Where You Need Them

Finding the right part of the documentation while you are in the middle of a task is friction nobody needs. WarmDesk now ships a help system that brings the relevant information directly into the app.

The ? button

A ? button sits in the top-right corner of the header, next to the theme toggle. Click it on any supported page and a panel slides in with:

  • An introduction explaining what the current page is for.

  • A tasks section — the most common things people do here, written as short step-by-step descriptions.

  • A shortcuts section where applicable.

The panel is context-aware. On the Charts view it shows help for the chart type you are currently looking at — switch from Velocity to Cycle Time and the panel updates without you doing anything. On Project Settings it tracks which tab is open (General, Members, Labels, API Keys, Webhooks, Deleted Cards) and shows the right content for each one.

Inline field hints

Some fields have a small icon next to their label. Click it to see a short explanation of what that field does and how it affects the rest of the app — without leaving the page or losing your place.

Field hints are currently available for:

  • Undeclarable time in the time-tracking report — explains the difference between logged, undeclarable, and declarable minutes and how the subtraction works.

  • Group by in the time-tracking report — describes what each grouping option produces in the report and in the PDF export.

  • Export in the time-tracking report — covers the PDF font and language options and the per-customer page-break checkbox.

  • Several fields in the Admin panel — registration, MFA enforcement, IP allowlist, session timeout, story points, Gravatar, and others.

  • Ticket fields — macros, reminder date, pending-close date, checklists, and the private message toggle.

Help content is loaded lazily — the locale bundles are only fetched the first time you open the panel, so there is no impact on initial page load.
