v0.25.0: Voice-only calls
Not every call needs video. Until now, starting a call in WarmDesk always asked for your camera. You’d only get an audio-only call if the camera failed. v0.25.0 makes audio-only something you can choose.
A mic button next to the camera
Both one-to-one and group chat headers now have a mic button next to the camera button. Click it to start a voice call. WarmDesk never asks for camera access, so there’s no permission prompt and no camera light.
It uses the same call infrastructure as video calls: WebRTC peer-to-peer for one-to-one conversations, LiveKit for group conversations. The audio-only call bar you see is the one that already appeared when a camera couldn’t be opened. Now you can also get it on purpose.
See Voice and video calls in the User Guide.
Also fixed in v0.25.0
If a group call failed to connect (for example because LiveKit isn’t configured), you could get a console error and the banner’s "dismissed" state could get stuck. A watcher referred to a variable before it was declared. It no longer does.
Backup notification emails said "WarmDesk" twice, as in "WarmDesk — WarmDesk backup succeeded", when no company branding was set, because the default company name is also "WarmDesk".
v0.25.1: systemd tells you when startup fails
Before this fix, systemctl start warmdesk reported success even when the server was about to crash, whether from a bad JWT_SECRET, a wildcard CORS origin in release mode, or a port that was already in use. The unit used Type=simple, so systemd treated the job as done as soon as the process started.
The server now binds its listener first and tells systemd it’s ready only after startup has actually succeeded. Both deploy/warmdesk.service and deploy/multi-instance/warmdesk.service switch to Type=notify and wait for that signal, so a failed start shows up immediately, the same way a broken nginx config does. If you installed an older copy of the unit file, update it to benefit.
v0.25.2: the Log Time toolbar in calendar view
When you switched Log Time to the calendar view, the whole bottom toolbar vanished: macros, copy previous week, undo, and export. The bar only existed inside the table view. It’s now shared by both views. Add row is still hidden in calendar mode, because it only applies to the table.
